Segments

Scroll to the bottom of the "Push Alerts" page.

There will be no change to the app settings until Segments are activated.

The default notification setting is a single toggle that enables/disables all notifications.

Enable

To enable Segments, toggle the "Activate Segments" switch on. Click the "Save" button.

There are two default Segments: Latest and Digest.

Latest: Main category for breaking news and most push alerts.
Digest: Recurring alerts (Daily, Weekdays, etc.)

Once Segments have been enabled, the app will update dynamically. Users will see a red dot over the settings icon.

When they open the menu, they'll see a red dot next to the new Notification Settings.

When the user taps Notification Settings, a second menu will display individual toggles for each Segment. The default position is on.

Create

To create a new Segment, click the "Create Segment" button.

A modal will open to enter the Segment information. Hit the "Create" button.

The newly created Segment will appear in the Segments list. Hit the Save button.

The new Segment will be added dynamically to the apps. All changes, including updates to the title and description, will update dynamically.

Send

Once enabled, a new control, "Push Segment" will appear with a dropdown menu.

You'll be able to select which Segment you'd like to use when sending a push alert. The default Segment is Latest.

Note: The Digest Segment is connected to recurring alerts only and will not appear in the One-time push alert dropdown

Edit

To edit a Segment, hover over the ellipsis icon and select, Edit Segment from the dropdown.

A modal will open to update the Segment title or description. Hit the Update button.

The updated Segment will display in the Segment list. Hit the Save button.

Delete

To remove a Segment, hover over the ellipsis icon and select, Delete Segment from the dropdown.

A confirmation popup will appear. Hit the Delete button.

The Segment will be removed from the list. An Undo option will be available in case you change your mind. To permanently remove the Segment, hit the Save button.
